i can't believe it's not butter

wait, yes I can. What I can't believe is that I haven't mentioned Panda Bear's new album which leaked weeks ago. Until now weenies! Simply put, Tomboy is solid. Not life-changing but I thoroughly enjoy listening to it from start to finish. I'm no music critic but if I had to rate this in terms of ice cream flavors, it's obviously Pistachio; a bit out there (in typical Noah Lennox fashion), tastes dependably delicious, and leaves me feeling bloated satisfied.

synthin' it up

It's a Twin Shadow day. This song in particular makes me want to jump up and do that little kick dance from Footloose. You know the one.

I debated posting Tyrant Destroyed instead of I Can't Wait solely for the lyric "as if it wasn't enough to hear you speak, they had to give you lips like that." I recommend a listen. It will break your heart.

leafy greens

I'm a bit of a Scrooge. A Negative Nancy if you will. I don't overflow with love for most things. But I really do enjoy anything tree related. So I'm jazzed about a new way to look at forest cover within the United States. The Woods Hole Research Center just came out with a comprehensive look at wooded areas and corresponding carbon stock in the Lower 48. Its been keeping me busy all morning.

And because I'm shit at clever transitions, here's a really good song by a band with the word 'trees' right in the name! By golly! I love the combination of Grizzly Bear-esque vocals and nap-time melodies.

restless

I should be sitting back with my feet up, but instead I'm feeling anxious and unsatisfied. I'm itchin' to jump on a plane to someplace no one knows me. Preferably if I could just teleport into this music video. Scram, worries! Be gone, cares!

We've made it my friends, we're crossing the finish line as I type. Hurts so good.

don't give a funk

Respect the classics. This is the orig, but for a real treat, the remix runs rampant with Biggie's debut.

A friend indeed

I'm feeling very content and acoustic-y today. Enter Bob Desper. An optical hemorrhage left him blind at age 10 though that never hindered his ability to create delicately heartfelt folk music. Highly underrated in my opinion.

daily grind

These weeks are flying by but each day seems to drag. Here's to hoping I make it through this heinous work deadline sans psychotic break.

A dose of Niki and the Dove for motivation.

très charmant

A charming Elliot Smith cover by the vocally ravishing Madeline Peyroux.
